Clausthal Technical University
Institute for Energy Research and Physical Technologies
Brief outlineTraditionally the research activities of the institute are in surface sciences and surface microscopy but since 1998 new programs in photonics and optical technologies are established. The institute is divided into four divisions: - Physics of surfaces and interfaces
- Atomic and molecular physics at surfaces
- Applied photonics
- Optical technologies Scientific and non-scientific staff: 50
Core skills- Research in the fields of surface science, nonlinear optics at interfaces, laser spectros copy, miniaturized new laser sources, photonic materials, holographic storage, nonlinear optics and integrated optics
- Teaching programs in experimental physics and physical technologies in the fields of research
