Join the O&P community in summer 2008

Within the first KSOP Summer School, we invite you to join the O&P community in an extraordinary environment and to get interesting insights and learn about new approaches in the context of O&P research. The two-day program comprises four "slots" related to the KSOP research areas each with one keynote speaker and additional well-known experts. This approach highlights the interdisciplinary character of KSOP, enforces the dialogue between the different research areas, and therefore connects your perspectives!

The Summer School is directed mainly at master students, doctoral candidates and postdocs. Nevertheless, interested senior scientists are more than welcome to attend.

All lectures and talks will be held in English. To enhance discussion and exchange, part of the Summer School will be a poster presentation. Each participant is invited to present a poster including his or her scientific background, research interest or current research project. If you attend all lectures and present a poster, KSOP will issue a certificate stating that the workload for the course equals 1 ECTS credit point.

If you want to enjoy a whole week of photonics, you might want to consider attending the CFN Summer School 2008 on Nano-Photonics, which will be held at the same venue right after the KSOP Summer School from August 22-25. Please visit their website for more information and registration.

Location

The conference will be held at the Evangelische Akademie in Bad Herrenalb, ideally located just a few kilometers from Karlsruhe in the Black Forest.
